Even though there won't likely be a G4TW release of The Sims 3 version 1.69, there is a way for you to play a DRM-free version of this game! Namely through ZLOrigin; a basic guide can be found here. You can download The Sims 3 version 1.69, from said ZLOrigin.

Hello everybody,
Since we've been getting lots of these questions lately, here's a small announcement. Please take your time to read through the following. Games4theworld will (most likely) NOT be updating the Ultimate fix for The Sims 3 to the patch version 1.69.36.0240. Why ?
The patch is only available through Origin, hence it will be only relevant for people who own at least the base game of The Sims 3 (on Origin). There is no 'manual patch' anymore for the 1.69 game version, so users with non-Origin Sims 3 games cannot update their game to 1.69.
Besides, this new 'update' does not introduce that much new stuff, but see for yourselves here, and feel free to make your own opinion on that:

Those of you having the basegame of TS3 on Origin alongside pirated expansions, I would suggest you disable automatic Origin updates. You can do this by going to the Origin-tab in your client, and selecting 'Application settings'. Under 'General', UNMARK the box that says 'automatically keep my games up-to-date'.
If you already updated to 1.69, you may run into poblems. If you cannot get the 1.69 game working with the current Ultimate fix from G4TW, you will most likely have to uninstall your Sims 3 game(s) on Origin, and start over with non-Origin (pirated) versions of the game. Personally, I suggest the 'TS3 Complete Collection' from this site. Instructions are included.

Update: @SeoY mentioned he managed to use the current Ultimate fix of Games4theworld with the 1.69 version of The Sims 3 on Origin, but also pointed out that many mods (like those of NRAAS) may not work properly anymore with 1.69. So bear that in mind.
